Since the first known case of COVID-19 in Turkey was confirmed until now, a total of 144,749 infected people and 4,007 deaths have been officially registered.
Currently 963 people are critically hospitalized and fortunately 104,030 have already been recovered. Let us remember that these data are the officially offered by different administrations from Turkey.
The current population of Turkey is 82,003,882, based on latest World Bank and United Nations data.
In Turkey, the rate of infection stands at 176.51 cases per 100,000 people, therefore, as of today, it is estimated that the 0.1765% of the population is officially infected.
World Health Organization (WHO) has estimated that the coronavirus kills about 3.4% of the people it infects. But that death rate varies between countries and across age groups. It’s also likely to change over time.
Comparing WHO estimations against the Turkey death rate, over the total number of patients, which is 2.77%, we see a difference of -0.63%.
