Since the first known case of COVID-19 in Slovakia was confirmed until now, a total of 1,477 infected people and 27 deaths have been officially registered.
Currently 5 people are critically hospitalized and fortunately 1,112 have already been recovered. Let us remember that these data are the officially offered by different administrations from Slovakia.
The current population of Slovakia is 5,422,366, based on latest World Bank and United Nations data.
In Slovakia, the rate of infection stands at 27.24 cases per 100,000 people, therefore, as of today, it is estimated that the 0.0272% of the population is officially infected.
World Health Organization (WHO) has estimated that the coronavirus kills about 3.4% of the people it infects. But that death rate varies between countries and across age groups. It’s also likely to change over time.
Comparing WHO estimations against the Slovakia death rate, over the total number of patients, which is 1.83%, we see a difference of -1.57%.
