Since the first known case of COVID-19 in Kazakhstan was confirmed until now, a total of 5,571 infected people and 32 deaths have been officially registered.

Currently 31 people are critically hospitalized and fortunately 2,531 have already been recovered. Let us remember that these data are the officially offered by different administrations from Kazakhstan.

The current population of Kazakhstan is 18,310,000, based on latest World Bank and United Nations data.

In Kazakhstan, the rate of infection stands at 30.43 cases per 100,000 people, therefore, as of today, it is estimated that the 0.0304% of the population is officially infected.

World Health Organization (WHO) has estimated that the coronavirus kills about 3.4% of the people it infects. But that death rate varies between countries and across age groups. It’s also likely to change over time.

Comparing WHO estimations against the Kazakhstan death rate, over the total number of patients, which is 0.57%, we see a difference of -2.83%.
