Since the first known case of COVID-19 in China was confirmed until now, a total of 82,933 infected people and 4,633 deaths have been officially registered.
Currently 11 people are critically hospitalized and fortunately 78,209 have already been recovered. Let us remember that these data are the officially offered by different administrations from China.
The current population of China is 1,386,000,000, based on latest World Bank and United Nations data.
In China, the rate of infection stands at 5.98 cases per 100,000 people, therefore, as of today, it is estimated that the 0.006% of the population is officially infected.
World Health Organization (WHO) has estimated that the coronavirus kills about 3.4% of the people it infects. But that death rate varies between countries and across age groups. It’s also likely to change over time.
Comparing WHO estimations against the China death rate, over the total number of patients, which is 5.59%, we see a difference of 2.19%.
