Since the first known case of COVID-19 in Bulgaria was confirmed until now, a total of 2,100 infected people and 99 deaths have been officially registered.
Currently 51 people are critically hospitalized and fortunately 531 have already been recovered. Let us remember that these data are the officially offered by different administrations from Bulgaria.
The current population of Bulgaria is 7,621,337, based on latest World Bank and United Nations data.
In Bulgaria, the rate of infection stands at 27.55 cases per 100,000 people, therefore, as of today, it is estimated that the 0.0276% of the population is officially infected.
World Health Organization (WHO) has estimated that the coronavirus kills about 3.4% of the people it infects. But that death rate varies between countries and across age groups. It’s also likely to change over time.
Comparing WHO estimations against the Bulgaria death rate, over the total number of patients, which is 4.71%, we see a difference of 1.31%.
