Data updated on 15 MAY 2020 02:13 UTC + 00
Since the first known case of COVID-19 in Bosnia and Herzegovina was confirmed until now, a total of 2,218 infected people and 122 deaths have been officially registered.
Currently 4 people are critically hospitalized and fortunately 1,272 have already been recovered. Let us remember that these data are the officially offered by different administrations from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The current population of Bosnia and Herzegovina is 4,048,500, based on latest World Bank and United Nations data.
In Bosnia and Herzegovina, the rate of infection stands at 54.79 cases per 100,000 people, therefore, as of today, it is estimated that the 0.0548% of the population is officially infected.
World Health Organization (WHO) has estimated that the coronavirus kills about 3.4% of the people it infects. But that death rate varies between countries and across age groups. It’s also likely to change over time.
Comparing WHO estimations against the Bosnia and Herzegovina death rate, over the total number of patients, which is 5.5%, we see a difference of 2.1%.
